If you’ve made any of our other felt animal stuffies, then this intermediate Felt Australian Shepard should be a relatively easy make. It’s especially well-suited for anyone who already has a bit of stuffie construction experience. When you're ready to begin, you’ll use a mix of Blanket Stitch, Whip Stitch, Ladder Stitch, and Back Stitch as you add this energetic herder to your pack. Looking for other dog breeds to sew? Be sure so also check out these Felt Corgi and French Bulldog projects.

To keep our Felt Australian Shepherd as realistic as possible, we layered different shades of felt and stitched each piece in place to create our that classic tri-color coat. Additionally, for extra durability, we recommend reinforcing your stitches from the inside with a small dab of tacky glue. As a result, your handiwork stays strong for years of love and play. Ultimately, these little steps make all the difference in bringing your little Aussie friend to life.

When your felt pup is stitched and stuffed, he’s ready for adventures both big and small! But, before you go — don't forget to share your handsome Aussie with us! Upload your finished creations with the hashtag #MadeWithLia, or, post them in our craters' community so we can inspire eachother this season.
