We've labeled this Star Anise Wreath as an intermediate-level project that calls for a bit of patience and precision. Each anise star is crafted from cardstock and layered for depth, then arranged into a full circle that feels both organic and polished. A cutting machine will make the process quicker and more consistent, though you can also cut the shapes by hand. Once assembled, the wreath comes together into a bold yet understated statement piece perfect for autumn.
Star anise itself has a fascinating history. Native to southern China and Vietnam, this spice has been prized for centuries not only for its warm, licorice-like flavor but also for its symbolic associations. In many cultures, the eight-pointed star is seen as a symbol of balance and harmony. Its shape makes it instantly recognizable and a natural fit for decorative inspiration. By reimagining it in paper, we’ve turned this humble spice into a centerpiece that celebrates both tradition and creativity.
There are so many ways to display your Cardstock Star Anise Wreath once you're all done. Hang it on your front door to welcome guests or style it flat on a table with candles or greenery for a harvest centerpiece. However, all we ask is that you please let us take a look at your amazing work once you've got it styled just right! So be sure to tag us on social media with the hashtag #MadeWithLia or post your pictures in our robust crafters' community.

@Liz
Back to the TopI am struggling with this project. Score lines seem to be registering at cuts. I have a Cricut Maker 4
Unfortunately, we can not set the score lines for you. They are all in a group you can select in the right column. Once that group is selected, go to the top bar and on the left side, there is a drop-down menu called “operations”, where you can select score.
