This video tutorial is part of our larger Craft Academy Winter Wreath Workshop Series, where we teach you how to create four different crepe paper branches and assemble them into a lush, festive wreath. While the full five-part series is exclusive to our annual members, this holly project is available to all members — making it a great place to begin if you want a taste of the full workshop experience. Also, this is a standalone project you can make on its own or incorporate into your holiday decorating.
In this workshop, we'll guide you through cutting your crepe paper leaves, sculpting them into that signature holly shape, and building little clusters of berries for a pop of color. While the steps are approachable and beginner-friendly, the result looks beautifully polished. You’ll also get access to all templates and photo tutorials within the Craft Academy module, giving you everything you need to craft at your own pace.
Holly has been part of winter celebrations for centuries, symbolizing protection and eternal life. Additionally, its ability to stay green during the coldest winter months makes it a popular symbol of strength and endurance. Adding handmade holly to your décor highlights those virtues with a personal, creative twist — and it pairs perfectly with other projects in our Winter Wreath series, including pine, spruce, and winterberry branches.
When your Crepe Paper Holly is complete, display it on its own, tuck it into a wreath, or add it to garlands, gift toppers, or tabletop arrangements. However you style it, it brings a classic holiday charm — which is why we can't wait to see it! So, remember to share your work with us using #MadeWithLia or in our crafters' community!

Back to the TopWhat size should the box with the artwork be sized to?
Hi Shaun! Are you referring to this holly project?
yes! the square with the leaves uploads at 3.95 x 3.82. It just seems very small for 9 leaves lol
That is correct! They are pretty small, but you can make them larger if you prefer. 🙂
Thank you!!
The svg file seems strange. There isn’t a diagonal cut line for the medium and small leaves.
That is really odd. I have updated the file, so it should be working now. Thanks for letting me know.
