VIDEO: Felt Sitting Dog
Sit back and relax
In honor of our 10-year anniversary, Krista has designed two new felt crafts based on our office dogs. One is a corgi and the other is an Italian doxie. Unlike our other felt dog we have on the site for you, this pattern is a felt sitting dog. And we will be showing you how to make it live during our spring craft summit!

Materials
Save on ALL materials with our Craft Summit Bundle, which you can customize based on what you need for this project. Below is a breakdown of everything we used for the two felt dogs.
For the Corgi:
- Lia Griffith Wool Blend Felt — Camel, White, Black, Sweet Pink, Eucalyptus, and Fern
- Embroidery Floss — DMC Tan (436), Snow White (B5200), Black (310), Light Shell Pink (223), Fern Green (522), and Very Light Avocado Green (471)
For the Italian Greyhound Dachshund Mix:
- Lia Griffith Wool Blend Felt — White, Black, Terracotta, Sweet Pink, Dewy, and Jade Ocean
- Embroidery Floss — DMC Snow White (B5200), Black (310), Light Shell Pink (223), Fern Green (522), and Very Light Avocado Green (471)
For both dogs:
- Black Safety Eyes — 6mm
- Polyester Fiber Fill — Lia Griffith Stuffie Puff
- Fabric Pen — Dritz Disappearing Ink
- Aleene’s Tacky Glue

You can use beads or black felt for the eyes if you don’t want to use the craft eyes.

I just made my very first stuffie – Corgi. Question on the legs, the photo tutorial Step 11 , it says snip off the excess tan felt from the backside. Did not see if Emily did that. When I did it, it looks kinda weird. But maybe I snipped off the wrong way.
Please let me know what’s the better way of how to do it.

For the corgi, the white felt was for the tips of the paws. We did clip the back layer of the paws off, so there was less overlap. This keeps it from getting bulky, especially around the foot of the paw.
I can’t find the replay of the felt dog stuffie?Am I looking in the wrong place?

I have never done any felt stuffies so I am very eager to learn. My 2 daughters each own a corgi – 1 girl and 1 boy (Belle and Quaffle)
So I want to make these as a surprise gift but had to watch the replay- can’t wait

Some corgis have heart-shaped tails (stubs).
Yes! You can customize yours with that detail too. We have a corgi here in the office. I will have to check his tail when he comes in tomorrow. 😉
I’m looking forward to making these cuties. Learning the decorative stitches, will be my challenge. I need all the tips and tricks that I can get.
