Back to the TopI was so excited to sign up for a monthly membership, so that I could make a series of cute tropical felt flowers for my nursery. So, imagine my surprise when I go to use my 5 downloads for the month only to realize that most of these projects require 2 downloads per item… 1 for the actual pattern and 1 for the instructions. Luckily, I’m an artist and designer and don’t need the instructions. However, in the UX Design world we call things like this dark or deceptive patterns, where the user doesn’t realize that they need to jump through extra hoops/pay more money/upgrade/not get exactly what they thought they’d get until they’re already in the midst of buying/using a product. I shouldn’t have to say it, but it’s a completely unacceptable thing to do and a huge no-no in the industry, particularly if you’d like to retain your users. Shame on you. I’m cancelling my account immediately.
