We are crafting a brand-new flower today! Designed by Meagan, our frosted paper Lewisia is such a happy-looking flower and adds a beautiful splash of color to any room. Our tutorial below will show you how to shape and color your petals, then assemble them to create this little bouquet.

Because this flower has some intricate pieces, we recommend using a cutting machine with our SVG file. However, you can always cut your frosted paper Lewisia by hand using our PDF template.

Lovely Lewisia

Named after Meriwether Lewis who encountered this flower in 1806, the Lewisia is native to our home state of Oregon. This flower is known for it fleshy, succulent-like leaves and striking blooms. It can also range in color from yellow to orange to pink to red. We chose to make our frosted paper Lewisia using different pink tones, but you can always experiment with the colors you use.

Each stem has three flowers attached, and we made three stems altogether for a total of 9 flowers. Our template also includes different sizes of leaves so you can create a bouquet that looks more realistic. As always, you can play around with how many flowers you make and the number of leaves you add to your arrangement.

Skill level: Intermediate due to working with small pieces and some detailed coloring

Crafting tip: Use needle-nose tweezers for the small pieces

How to Make a Frosted Paper Lewisia

Gather your craft tools and materials. Then download the flower template below.
Cut paper according to template using scissors or a cutting machine.
Add detail to each petal with the soft coral marker.
Add 3 brush strokes to each petal with the magenta marker.

Question…is svg file correct? On my end design space shows overlapping petals on first cut. So my cricut is trying to do a shadow cut, if that makes sense?

  This is a Cricut issue that sometimes happens when they do an update. Sometimes it spaces them back out again when you click “make it”. Otherwise, the only other thought I have is to restart Cricut and retry.
