Crepe Paper Crocus with Bulb Member Make Video Workshop
Crepe Paper Crocus with Bulb Member Make Video Workshop
The crocus with the mostest
Although we have made a few crocus flowers before, we are doing something a little different for this month's Member Make workshop! Our crepe paper crocus and bulb is more on the advanced side. And unlike a typical flower that you would display in an arrangement or vase, we have framed these blooms to create a beautiful piece of art.
To prepare for our workshop, check out our supplies list below. Then follow our instructions to join us live on February 17th, or watch the recording below.
This video is for members only.

Our crepe paper crocus and bulb features 2-3 blooms and wispy leaves surrounding the stems. During our workshop we will show you how to assemble these flowers and create the framed piece of art. If you'd like, you could also place them in clear little vases or jars — or use solid colors if you want to hide the bulb. Another fun idea is to use them as a gift topper.
Whatever you do with your crepe paper crocus and bulb, we'd love to see it! Be sure to share photos on our crafters community page or use the hashtag #MadeWithLia on Instagram.
Skill level: Advanced due to the small pieces and new coloring techniques we are using

Leave a CommentThis was a fun project! I made these a few months ago and, unfortunately, the ink from the Karin Brushmarkers has completely disappeared! The flowers were not in direct sun so I wondered if you have had the same problems?
Yes, it looks like ours did, too. I guess we can give it a little refresh. I wonder if the Krylon UV spray would help.
I love this project so much!! I followed your video and your instruction is so amazing! I am so proud of myself that I made this and it looks so pretty!!!! Thank you again! I love you guys and your products and tutorials! Keep up the good work.
Aww, thank you. I am sharing this with the team. 🙂
Do you think alcohol based markers will work instead?
Yes! Use a very light color or a blending brush as we did in the video. Of course, test on a scrap before you add it to the petals.
Can you tell me what color paint you used in your studio? 😍
Do you mean the color of our video set? It is called “Secondhand Find” by Magnolia (Joanna Gains). This might be the paint color I have used the most throughout the years, and my living room will soon become this color. We also have it in a few places in the office. (Full studio tour coming).
Really appreciate the follow up photo tutorial that you now provide . Thank you!
Wonderful to hear!
Just to let you know that on my SVG in DS , not all the leaves are coming out along the grain. Half of them come out sideways which is a bit fiddly to adjust as they are so fine. Love this design though!
That is really odd. I just tested the file, and they did not rotate for me. Did you confirm the initial size of the bounding box before you hid the designer notes? I am wondering if it was larger then forced a rotation.
This is strange – I didn’t receive my e-mail reminder/invitation until 8:41pm so guess I won’t get to join the live make 🙁
That is strange. I know we sent them in the morning. Maybe you can set a reminder on your smart phone calendar?
très agréable cette création!!!!!!
Thank you!
Where did you get the little bulb vases! Thank you, love the workshop. Going to make it now!
Here is a link for the bulb vases however it looks like they are out of the clear glass version: https://amzn.to/41aXhYy
Thank you so much for my “lunch-n-learn” while at work. This was my first one I could attend since joining and will definitely attend many more. Thank you Lia and Team for making these possible.
We are so happy you attended! See you next time!
Is it on you tube .?
Or where canI join the class ?
Hi! A video player will appear at the very top of the page shortly. We will start in a little over an hour at 11am Pacific time.
What size frame did you use. I plan to put mine on a frame
I will share that in the live today!
Do you have a link to the adorable glass vases? Thank you
Yes! Here is that link: https://amzn.to/3Ic4xM7
Looking forward to this! Random question, but I was thinking of hanging this in my bathroom. Will crepe paper flowers hold up in a steamy bathroom, do you know?
I think if you keep them away from direct steam, they might be okay. You can also put them in a frame with glass.
So cute!💕
See you there!
Thanks! This looks like fun.
I am so looking forward to making these!
Could you PLEASE provide the instructions? I would like to make this now. Just the instructions would be fine. Thank you.
Melissa
Hello Melissa. The instructions will be available after the Live class on the 14th.
What supplies would I need to make the framed art, in addition to the crocus supplies?
I just used an Ikea frame with a 12×16 opening, a piece of natural linen to cover the board backer, and hot glue to attach the flowers. I will do a little demo during the class.
