Three years ago I made a crepe paper quince branch for our first master class. It was a member favorite — and one of mine too! In fact, I still have the original creation on my entry table. For this free version, I have updated a few of the techniques, materials, and tools. Materials
- Lia Griffith Extra-Fine Crepe Paper – Blush, Chiffon, Cypress, Cherry
- 8mm Spun Balls
- Floral Wire – 24-Gauge Paper Covered Green
- Art Glitter Glue or Tacky Glue
- Posca Paint Pen – 1MR Ultra Fine Pen – Black
- PanPastel® Artist Pastel – Permanent Red 340.5
Along with paper flowers and paper plants, I love making my own blooming branches to use as home decor. This crepe paper quince branch would look beautiful on an entry table, living room console, or dining room table. If you'd like, you can also add some other crepe paper flowers for a fuller arrangement.
Crafting tip: Use a found branch that has fallen from a tree. The number of flowers, buds, and leaves will depend on the size of the branch. For this crepe paper quince branch, I made 14 flowers and 5 buds. A smaller version could be 7 flowers and 3 buds.

Leave a CommentI am having an issue where I uploaded the image to design space, but when I go to add it to the canvas, it tells me “image load failure”. This is the only svg I’m having a problem with. After contacting cricut, they told me it was a problem with the svg. Is this a known issue? I’m needing to make 70 of these flowers for an event in a couple of weeks.
It seems that Cricut has done an update that is causing issues with some of our files that have worked fine for years. I have figured out a workaround. . . as always. 😉 There is a new version that you can download that will work. I am seeing that the designer notes are NOT aligned though. Oh well.

If it is our brand of crepe paper, it should be the same on both sides.
Hi Lia, beautiful branch! can you please check the PDF file? for some reason is printing very small. Also, how can I modify this flower to do a cherry blossom? thank you!
Hi Carolina. When you print the PDF, be sure to make your setting 100% rather than “fit page”. This will give you the size intended. I will keep a cherry blossom in mind. 😉
I love this! I have a huge branch from land in Oregan that was donated to my child care. It was too big so I began cutting off some of the branches not knowing what I would do with them. Now I know!! I can’t wait to start making some for gifts!
We have other blooming branches on our site. Magnolia, apple blossom, dogwood. . . all work well with real branches and such a pretty look. 😉
